For the price it might be worth a punt and if they work its a steal.

There should be a model number of the sat-nav being sold which if there is then have a look for reviews on the internet and youtube.

Hi there i downloaded the "co-pilot" app for smart phones It has setttings for towing a caravan and Europe maps. The maps are downloaded so no internet connection needed. It has loads of campsites installed on the points of interest.A one off payment of £43 with 12 months free traffic .Someone on the forum advised me and i am quite impressed.

I've got a cheap Noza tec truck sat nav off e bay, I use it daily in a 44t artic and it works fine, I also used it last year touring France with the caravan, never let me down once.
As has been said it's not as user-friendly as a TT but once you get the hang of it it's fine, great bit of kit for the price £49

I bought one for about 50 quid and ended up sending it back. It looked the business with a nice big screen and a list of all the things it could do, but when it came to setting it up and using it, I think you would have to be a real geek to get it right. I gave up before I ended up jumping up and down on it to teach it a lesson.
It's just Chinese crap like most things you buy nowadays and I think the "you get what you pay for" rule always applies. Having said that, I wouldn't pay the amount they charge for the Caravan Club recommended sat navs.
I just persevere with the standard TomTom and hope I don't have to end up doing a 30 point turn where a mistake would put me into a river (it really happened once).

I agree jjd. I have Google Maps on my phone at the same time so I always know exactly where we are and where we're going. The tomtom sometimes tries to be clever and send us on a silly short cut.

They are ok, generally work well. Using it on your hols watch out for brightness or should say lack of it, you can buy screen shield for a couple of quid good investment with a chinese sat nav.
