This is my first post on here. I am trying to find a more comfortable way to sleep when we go camping as I have struggled so far.

I have a single Skandika 7.5cm SIM and what I want to do is to buy another one, attach them together and put a memory foam mattress topper on top.

Please can someone tell me if a memory foam topper will work? (I read somewhere that they don't work in extremes of temperature) and if there is anything I can use to attach the two SIMs together to make one 120cm wide bed.

Thanks

Jayne

I use a single jersey stretch fitted sheet to keep two single SIMs together. To make the join more secure you could always use some duct tape.

A fitted sheet should hold the 2 single SIMs together just fine (you might have to cut holes for the valves, so they don't rub against the fabric).

or

You could use a Thermarest Universal Couple Kit; basically two webbing straps with plastic buckles (easy enough to fit, just slide the buckle to one side or underneath the SIMs).

One of my better purchases was two Thermarest DreamTime XL's they come with Foam Topper and Fleece zip on cover, along with embedded straps, the two together make for a larger double bed than we have at home.

You can get the Fleece and Foam section, without the actual DT XL SIM, I think it was sold as a replacement cover for the DT, maybe that could be an option if your SIM is of the correct size.

Thanks. I have tried to find a replacement cover for the dreamtime but no luck. Do you remember where you could get it from?

Yep, it was on Amazon maybe a year or so back, so probably no longer available now, as the DT has been replaced by the Neo Air Dream, so the same may be available for that.

Although I did read most recently that the DT has come back, by popular demand, but I am dammed if I can remember were I read that.

Have you tried Cascade Design, they market ThermaRest for the UK and are based in Ireland.

Cascade are most helpful, they even sent me a pair of stuff sacks for my two DT XL's no charge either which was very nice of them, although I had just splashed out £119 for each sim.
