I'm buying a couple of sleeping bags for my husband and son to sleep in a drive-away awning.
I was thinking Season 2/3 would be warm enough for early June.
Would you recommend getting an adult size for my 7 year old? Or a child's sleeping bag?
Mummy style or rectangle? I don't want him to be cold and miserable!
I thought with an adult size we could just fold it up at the end, or would they feel cold if it was too big?
Many thanks for any advice.

My son, who was 7 last summer, went into a cheapy adult bag. Don't mind spending a bit when they are older but mine seem to destroy things by chewing corners. (He chews the cuffs of his school sweatshirts!).

Eurohike or Tesco's brand I think it is. My dd has my old one, which is 25 + years old. Have not decided what to do about ds2 as he is 4 now and I think his sleeping bag will only fit him this summer.

I don't know about junior bags and sizes, these are ones a friend gave me.

They sleep on roll mats. I take extra blankets but usually it is only me who needs them.

All our bags are Mummy ones.

We always used adult size ones for our kids. When they were small, we used to tie a belt around bag to make it shorter, so they sort of grew with them.
We are selling our two 2-3 season Outwell ones, not because they weren't warm enough, just because my chubby hubby needs some extra room lol
A brushed cotton/fleece type liner's always useful, and packs small, just in case the night time temp drops. Also makes washing easier, as I just wash the liner after each trip, and the bags down the laundrette after each season.

My 2 kids are now 13 and 16, we've just replaced their year old adult Argos mummy bags for Vango Sonno rectangle bags. We used to fold the bottoms under on the bags when they were little. THen the kiddies bags were blinking awful and really thin, hence we went for adult ones. Not sure what the Argos bags are like nowadays.
