We have been using airbeds but I'm looking for a warmer more comfortable solution. Mine always needs pumping up again at random times of night and even though we insulate them underneath I still find them cold and uncomfortable.
Thinking about getting camp beds and sims. Do camp beds pack up smallish?
They do pack down quite small, best thing we bight was our outwell posads double. This yer I have bought the Mrs a 5 cm single sim to go on top of it as she suffers with arthritis. Yet to try it out yet, will be today as we go way today for 10 days.

Aerobed, foil back insulated camping mats underneath, fleece blanket on top, good quality double sleeping bag and we have never been cold. Plus the Aerobed is brilliant - I normally top it up once in a week which given the variances of temperature in a tent I think is acceptable
We use cheap airbeds, got them before finding this site. Famed end April. Blankets under and over the airbeds and we were warm. Will look at Simms when they need replacing though.
For main hol in big tent we use cheapo Coleman airbeds in cotton sleeping bag liners on top of 5cm sims.
Weekends in cold and wet Ireland we use backpacking air mats. They have their own insulation and pack up tiny.
A full size air bed wouldn't fit in our wee tents and fishing beds wouldn't fit in the car.

I've got the Aldi sim. It's OK but I fancy one of the really thick sims but they are a bit pricey. We started out with blow up mattresses but I find them hideously uncomfortable.
We have XL campbeds and 7.5cm sims, so very comfy, but I wouldn't say pack down very small. Campbeds fold down to a similar size to folding chairs in bags, but a bit bulkier. Sims are about sleeping bag size when rolled up, but you can get thinner, so less bulky.
Camp beds with the box style canvas rubberized airbeds on top, blanket, sheet, open sleeping bag and then another blanket, lovely and snuggly and storage space underneath is an added bonus

I've just bought a kampa kip wideboy 10cm and seems very good but pack size isn't small but it is fantastically comfortable. I haven't tried it in a tent yet though
We have the Outwell posadas double bed together with SIMS, put all together with fitted sheet then we place our zipped sleeping bags on top. Cozy!! We have as good a nights sleep as we do at home.

Outwell Laguna XL camp bed + Therm-a-rest Luxury Map XL SIM on top, secured by means of a flannel fitted single sheet.
If I were to source a camp bed now, I would opt for the Outwell Posadas or Kampa Dream camp beds for their ease of erection.
