How do you stop coat hangers falling off the rail when on the move please. Mine seem to end up on the floor of the cupboard. I don't want to buy any special ones just use normal plastic ones.

A small length of pipe lagging on the hanger rail, works for us
That was a tip posted on this forum a couple of years back but they cut slots in the sponge tubing at equal intervals which kept the hanger hooks secured in place. I took the advice last year by placing the insulation tubing over the rail and it worked except the only problem was that the tubing twists so the opening slot ends up the wrong way (upside down). I'm going to put slots into as advised and see if does the trick.
The other tip was to put the coat hangers on the rail in alternate directions, if that makes sense, ie first hook facing the door the 2nd hook facing the wall the 3rd hook facing the door etc etc.
When we had a caravan, I simply crammed so many clothes (on hangers) onto the wardrobe rail that there wasn't room for them to move, never mind slip off the rail!
