Hi, we are amply proportioned adults and got on fine with a Vango Comfort 10cm double. It insulates beautifully so there is no need to put lots of layers underneath. I have sciatica and hip problems, and once I got the inflation level right for my needs it has been fab. It's big when packed (70cm long n about49cm diameter, weight about7kg I think) and a bit of a tussle to role up, but it comes with two elastic straps and an oversized bag.

Therm-a-rest Luxury Map XL, 7.5cm; so good that I bought a spare to make a double, and to keep at home in case I have a visitor.

We have the Vango Comfort 7.5cm and have found it very comfortable. It is a bit of a wrestle to pack and roll up especially compared to the singles but excellent value for money at just under £50 for the double.

I can honestly say that although the 12cm dreamboat is expensive at £200, it was the two best nights sleep we've had whilst camping. It was amazingly comfortable, and toasty warm, no need to insulate underneath.

2x outwell Dream catchers with a double fitted sheet- bliss, hated the campbed with them though!

Following, as this is a major problem for us when camping in a tent.
Most are expensive but worth it to get a good kip 😉

We spent 4 nights on the Outwell Dreamcatcher 5 double. It's not like sleeping on a plush memory foam bed but I hardly felt the ground. We went for the 5.0 as I'm going to purchase some posada beds to go under it eventually. I would say that a dreamboat 10 on its own would be pretty awesome. I'm a very light sleeper too and slept really well.

Well! Just to update.

We tried a 10cm Vango dreamcatcher and were both really impressed. However, Jet2 coughed up a bit of cash following a bungled accommodation booking in Majorca so we pushed out the boat and bought an outwell dreamboat 12cm. It arrived in work today but I forgot to collect it at the end of the day!

Can't wait to report back - very excited!

Another vote for the Exped Megamat 10's. I bought 2 last year, after trying all sorts of different things (I perhaps would have gone with SIMs on a camp bed but space in the car prohibited that) and reading every review on SIMs I could find. I hold them together with a jersey fitted sheet from Dunelm's and it makes a super comfy larger than kingsize bed. No rolling together or squeaking and definitely no cold floor coming up through them (the main reason for me buying them), and you can set the firmness of each to your personal taste. Worth every penny I think, having said that, the Dreamboat 12 wasn't out last year I don't think - only the 10cm one and we preferred the flexibility of having 2 singles rather than 1 large one...

I think you are in for a treat..in fact a double treat. We have used the Outwell Dreamcatcher and found it OK but in time they deflate, we have had two.

we decided on the 7.5cm Dreamboat this time around and it's a totally different thing altogether.

First, the obvious qualities that people point out with its very comfy top layer and easy inflate.

Secondly, these are just so easy to deflate and pack away over a lot of the other cheaper sims, including the dreamcatcher range.

We needed a pump to deflate the dreamcatcher but with this my wife can pack the double away on her own without a pump. It truly is much easier and takes away the only downside to using a SIM.

Let us know how you get on...if you can manage to get off it!

We're taking it away on Monday. I can't wait. We have had it up in the living room and I have to say I was very impressed. It was a pain to put away but we know the knack now and I won't bother trying to do it on my own again!
Will let you know how we get on.

Just ordered a double 12cm dreamboat as my hubby has suffered horrendous sleep problems with being uncomfortable camping to the extent it triggered off some mental health issues for a while. Here's hoping this year that we will be super comfy!

The Kampa Wideboy XL 10cm SIM gets a thumbs up from me, always used airbeds before but took the plunge and bought the wideboy after the airbed developed a puncture and wouldn't go back now

Well what can I say? I am converted!

We have both had the best nights' sleep of any camping trip to date. It was unbelievably comfortable and had a proper "I am in a bed" feel.

The only problem was that it was so comfy it attracted the attention of the children so we had to do careful checks to remove abandoned socks and empty sweetie papers before we could get in! Our pod became the "hang out" hot spot for the under 12s in our party!

If you are on the fence, take the plunge.

It was also relatively easy to get it back into the bag but I would recommend that it is a job for 2 as I struggled alone.
