I was going to buy a cadac but changed my mind and going to invest in a cobb. Looking for suggestions on what to cook and to hear other people's experience using one.
Blooming great couple of facebook pages. Margaret Smith posts some really useful advice on what accessories you need. I'm on both pages.
I've got a Cobb and its tranformed what we eat whilst camping. Cobbstones are fab when cooking at camp, although the heatbeads are good for breakfast cooking as you can soak them in cold water once you've finished cooking and reuse. I wish we'd bought ours years ago.
Have been toying with getting one for over a year finally took the plunge and bought one last week.
I wanted to see one before buying and visited a local stockist who also has Weber, Cadac and others so was able to have a good browse and compare. Did consider a Cadac, but the Cobb is so neat decided to go with it and VERY glad we did.
Have just cooked a Gammon joint with honey and potatoes, it was delicious, so moist, and only used 8 briquettes - economical!
I can see that the Cobb will be used at home and taken camping, one happy Cobber here.
Just read your your post and wanted to comment. I have used a Cobb for about 12 years now and found them to be brilliant ! I have cooked just about everything in mine and they are excellent ! Portable, Hardwearing, Economical etc, etc. However, I have just purchased a Cadac Carry Chef which is also excellent. The reason for buying the Cadac is it's capacity ! The Cobb caters for 2-3 people brilliantly but struggles when my Daughter, Son in Law and Grand Daughters turn up for a BBQ so now I have the best of both worlds !!
Hi , steve , I assume you have the round cobb premiere , last year we bought the cobb supreme which is oval and is a pretty big beast that could cater for quite a few more hungry campers .
I feed me, hubby and 2 very hungry teenagers on my round Cobb. I have cooked hot dogs for 24 Beaver Scouts on it before when we went to the local park one night.
