Hi,Could anyone tell me if an EHU bought in UK will work in Belguim i.e Is the round 3 pin plug the same ? I know the voltage is slightly lower in Europe
Many thanks
Most of the site we have used in Belgium have used the CEE17 blue connectors. Having said that it is always best policy to take an adaptor with you when you go abroad.
Jim, bit puzzled by your comment about two plug types. Most of the adaptors sold in the UK will fit both French and German plugs. The only difference is that French two pin plugs have a male earth pin and the German plugs use an earth strap on the side of the plug. The German systems is more convenient because if you have reverse polarity you can just turn the plug upsidedown!!!
Belgium uses French centre earth Schuko plug but any continental adaptor bought in the UK as in the link will have the modern dual standard plug that will earth in both French & German standard sockets.
David,
We were in Croatia once and the French adaptor would not work there. The site manager gave us an adaptor which he claimed was "German"; hence we have always kept both types with us.
Things may have changed, or the site in Croatia may have been a one off.
Hi,thanks for your advice,it seems we may have left it a bit late as we're going on Saturday! However I've found a more specific answer to my question and it appears our site,(Jeugstadion Ypres) uses the 3 pin socket,so fingers crossed ! We'll probably invest in one for next time. Once again thank you all for your help 😁
