Hi all, so we are going to buy a Vango Avington 600 & we're very excited to go from a 4man to a 6man tent.Only problem is, it seems as though Vango is not so great with sewn in hanging tent storage to put all your bits & bobs, for easy access. So my question is, is there a suitable suggestion for hanging storage which will not affect the tent.ie weight. We don't want something that will take up floor space as we already have a fridge cooler box, little kitchen & folding table with benches. Wondering has anyone used other alternatives a ready. Your help is much appreciated.
Thanx so much in advance.
Hi, we've recently purchased a Vango tent without hanging storage, all previous Vango tents have had them so they must be cost cutting. Looked online to buy one but would cost nearly £30 so got my sewing machine out. I used a piece of material I had in (similar to deckchair canvas but anything not too loose a weave is fine, corduroy for example). Cut out similar size to hanging storage in tents and hemmed all around turning over at least an inch at the top to allow for string to thread through to hang it. I actually used a piece of thin dowelling and attached string to this to make it so it won't fold inwards when weight is in the tidy. You could use piece of bamboo. My finished hanger is 12" wide and 56" long and allowed half inch hem all round. Then using some net material cut out five pieces of the net approx 9" deep by 13" wide then, leaving approx 3" between each section, I turned in half an inch and stitched round the two sides and the bottom. Job done and quite impressed with myself! Hope this helps.
Sounds like a plan. Got a Taiga600xl with no storage pockets, but do have a half decent sewing machine lying around, and some basic ability... might have to knock one up too. 😉
As a cheap alternative, try the plastic hooks which are used with shower curtains. Cheap and light.

We also use these to run electric cables along the roof of the tent to a light, or just to get it to the other side of the tent. Saves trailing along the floor as a trip hazard, or running around the sides of the tent.
So I bought this decathlon pole .
I cut 5 cm very easy with a simple saw.
I put it into one of the rings that attaches the inner tent to the main tent, only to support the horizontal balance. It mades no pressure or strech to the tent.
To hang the storage on the top of the pole I used a 6mm washer and rope.
All the weigt is in the pole so the tent doesn't suffer at all.
