I'm after a small, portable gas BBQ to both take camping and also to use for quick BBQs at home when there is only a few of us, rather then getting my charcoal Webber going.
I'd like to be able to use the same gas that I take camping for my camping gas cooker (the one with two hobs and a small grill), a 4.5kg calor gas butane bottle.
I've had a look at the Webber Go Anywhere and the Char Broil X200 which are around £100 / £125. The Webber looks fairly basic, very similar to some others that are very similar but obviously not as well made.
I've not seen the X200 in person, but it looks great in the pics / videos online.
I want something that packs up fairly small so we can take it camping.
Any recommendations or other suggestions?
Will I have any issues using my gas with these BBQs - or any other gas BBQ?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I have the Go Anywhere Gas. It is terrific as a direct heat grill but a faff for anything more creative.
Weber's Q series barbies give at-least-as-good results and will do indirect heat more easily but are a bit chunky if space is a problem. (I am assuming you know about this ridiculously over-priced adapter.)
The grate on the X200 looks as though it'd be difficult to clean in a camping environment.
Personally I tend to do EHU and an electric table-top oven instead these days. Cheaper to buy, too.
