Hi folks, can anyone recomend a reasonably priced cordless vacuum cleaner that actually works? Perhaps you prefer a lightweight corded one instead. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks, Andy.

I don't think that you will get a cordless vacuum at a reasonable price that actually performs well apart from a Dyson model which doesn't come cheap.

I have a Black and Decker one bought from Woolworths before they closed, its excellent.

So good that i bought some LiPo batteries to replace the original NiCd batteries. A pair of 18650 batteries replaces the 4 sub C type.

Similar voltage (0.1v higher)and a higher Ah rating 2200aH instead of the old 1200Ah.

We bought a corded lightweight one off E bay,(was £19 but used nectar points to get it for £8)it's a godsend,grass/dried mud etc in the van, no problem, takes a few minutes to clean the floor just before we unhook from the mains, can be used as a hand held for the seats etc,we keep it in the van as it's no weight at all,if it lasts just one season it's a bargain buy, also no losing suction halfway through the cleaning due to battery grain.

I can highly recommend the Morphy Richards 2 in 1 Supervac. I recently bought one to replace a manual carpet sweeper for quick jobs and have ended up using it all the time for the whole house. I haven't used the big vacuum in ages.

You need to empty it regularly because it only has a small dust compartment but it is every bit as good as a big vacuum with the added bonus of being able to use it like a car vac.

Check around for best price.
