If we had a fixed bed, we might have gone for something different, as we have to pack it away each day we decided against foam, also apparently they can be hot.
We had a feather one for a couple of years which was good at first but went flat (we use the van about 30 nights a year)
We bought this

Sorry link won't paste properly
Slept on that one about 15 times so far and love it, it is quite bulky to pack away, other than that would recommend.
We changed our old topper for a Duvalay gold this year and it is far better than our old one not cheap put you only get what you pay for. We purchased from the NEC Caravan show were we were able to try before we bought and were so impressed we purchased on the day
Not keen on anything with memory foam because it gets too hot.
We use mattress covers from The Wool Room. Have their duvets and pillows too, house as well as van :)
Not cheap, but British and absolutely lovely to sleep with; just had a look at the website and they have a 40% off sale so I'd suggest you "Run don't walk ... !!"

And a snip at only £353.98 for a double size set.
lidds0 i am stalking you - to see if you want my Cabanon pyramide awning for free.....
We have a rebound mattress topper bought in Dunelm. Gives a nice softness to the seat cushions, but not too bulky if you need to put it away every day. On a fixed bed I can imagine it would be just as comfortable.
We used a standard fairly cheap memory foam mattress topper from argos cut to fit for a few years. It was ok. Invested in a duvalay each at the NEC last year, can honestly say they are amazing. We went for basic model with 4.5 tog duvet. used it in the winter and wee toasty warm. used it in France in very hot weather without the duvet in, perfect. I was very sceptical due to price but have found them well worth the money.
Our Duvalays are coming up 7 years old now and apart from the duvet bit being a bit flat they are as comfortable as ever. They are rolled and stored each day when we are away in the van and are usually kept rolled either in the van or at home when not. A big initial outlay but still doing an excellent job after all this time.
I got a duvelay for this holiday - best money I ever spent. It was £80 but the quality of the bed is now superb - mines a very old caravan and with this on the bed is amazing !!! Honestly I looked at others in Argos and Dunelm and decided to go for it as I have spent years getting my tent set up right so really wanted to be comfortable in the van. It's well worth it. I'm very tight with money !
