I have seen equipment for attaching a secure pole to a caravan A frame drawbar in order to secure a satellite or aerial to it; has anyone got any experience of attaching a pole to the A frame of a trailer for the same purpose or is it better to go with the standard stand alone tripod type set-up for a satellite dish when camping?

Get a short section of pole that fits the outside diameter of the pole and secure it to your tailer sides and just drop it in as and when required. Keep keen got do a simile idea to hold our fibre glass flag pole. At the mo I zip tie it to the jockey wheel of the trailer. Never had any problems with it moving or falling over!! It I It

To be fair, using the trailer could be restricting, as often trailers get tucked out of the way behind the tent.

We use one of the Lidl Bike Work Shop stands, on which to mount the Dish.

The 4 feet, allow the stand to be firmly pegged down.

Also being a bike work stand, the mast section can rotate freely, and then can be locked into place with the QRL when the satellite is located, this makes finding the satellite super easy.

Also the mounting pole can extend from 1m upto 2m very handy if there are any line of sight issues.

And also can be used for fixing your bike, when not being used for the satellite Dish!

Great idea on the Lidl Bike Work Shop stand Francais. I would never have considered that. Just googled it and it looks like a perfect solution. Much better than the usual tripod stands which are hard to secure and keep in position.
