Does anybody know if such a thing exists that can link two fresh water tanks. If we shower in the caravan it uses most of the water in the Aqua Roll so it would be good if two (or more) can be linked.

Any ideas?

Garden centres sell kits for linking multiple water butts. You could maybe bodge something out of them?

I think it is possible to set up a syphon between two aqua rolls.

We simply swap the pump to the full barrel before showering.

Both barrels filled before bed and wastes emptied ready for the morning.

Submerge a length of hose in one aquaroll




Put your thumb over one end and pull a metre or so out:




Hold the free end below the level of the water and remove your thumb to get the water flowing:




Put your thumb back over the free end and put it into the other aquaroll:



If your hand doesn't fit into the aquaroll, put a kink in the hose to stop the flow instead.

Shower on : wet yourself : shower off : soap : shower on to rinse.
Uses 4/5 litres at most!

If you leave the shower taps on constant using lots of water because it's difficult to re-set the taps again after pausing the water flow then the easy solution is to exchange the shower head with a shower head with an ON/OFF lever so the water temperature remains the same. We now use less than half a barrel of fresh water when showering with no fiddling of adjusting the shower taps.
The picture in the link is for illustration purposes only as you may get one cheaper if you shop around online.

This is on ebay at the minute. It looks expensive for what it is, but the pictures will give you an idea of what's involved.
You could probably get it cheaper somewhere else.

I fitted a Thermostatic Mixer Valve in the pipework feeding my shower so we can turn the tap of and back on and get water at a constant temperature.
This is the type I used.

We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
