I too have arthritis & we have Posada double campbed with SIM on top, followed by 3" thick mattress cover, followed by fleecy mattress cover, then fitted sheet. Quilt & blanket on top. Lovely & warm ( too warm sometimes) & best if all comfortable.
I vacu sack the bedding when packing to save space.

I recently bought an Anglers type campbed (Ebay). Its extra wide and padded and a good height off the ground.

I have tried it with a sim on top and a good sleeping bag, I also use the pillow that came free with the bed.
Great nights sleep and really comfy.

The only issue I would say is the size when folded. It is larger than the typical lightweight campbeds mentioned but I knew that before I bought it.

I used my Vango Calder 400 and there was lots of room in the sleeping pod for two of these beds with room to get in and out, with good storage below the beds.

I actually bought it based on reviews on this site, glad I did.

We have two single camp beds, butted side by side. By the time our 2 x single (10cm) SIMs are in place, and an elasticated fitted sheet lobbed on to hold it all in place (Cotton for August... Fleece for the other 11 months!!), we feel a very slight dip where the 2 x SIMs meet (certainly not a problem), but don't feel any bed frame bars etc. (We zip our single sleeping bags up as a double).

The reason I mention this is that these beds are not exactly lightweight (at least, the one's we got from G.O. aren't!). I'd certainly advise, should there be the slightest doubt, a trip to a local purveyor prior to committing to any purchase, if only to pick up and carry one a few yards, as a trial.

I hasten to add:
1/ Whilst I do occasionally carry 2 singles (one in each hand), I have never picked up, nor carried, a double camp bed.
2/ I fully appreciate many on here own, use, and are happy with double camp beds.
3/ I don't have arthritis.

Disclaimer:
I apologise for the above... It's just that, wrongly or wrongly, I've always associated arthritis with frail old ladies, and keep picturing Old Mrs Brady struggling her t**s off trying to carry, and set up, a double camp bed!
Yes, I know that's remiss of me, and yes, I know I have to mend my ways... If they were still alive, I'd blame my parents... in fact, I'm gonna blame them anyway!

VangoMan02...sounds really comfy & cosy ideal for my solo camps but if I have OH with me think I need a double or 2 singles. Really love the idea of storage under the beds..a Brucie bonus!

Oh dear Mucker1884 you started out so well...sound advise as always (re weight of transporting bed) but then your inner devil unleashed

Mucker!!!!!
As a middle aged lady with arthritis, I do not look like Old Mrs Brady!!!!😋😋
The double Posada is heavy, but I can put it up by itself & even carry it too 😋😋
Well worth it for a comfortable nights sleep lol.
It was hubby that used to moan about the cold coming through the air bed, not me lol.
& this was typed with my arthritic hands too..... get me 😂😂😂😂😂😜😜😜😜😜😜😜

Sorry Dawnie!

Although looking back, I'm quite proud of my use of the phrase "It's just that, wrongly or wrongly..."

I reckon I've covered my 4r5e pretty well there!
In fact, I might make it a habit! How can anyone possibly be offended if I use that to back up all my opinions and thoughts!

I'm good Mucker lol.
I wasn't offended at all, it was funny & I tried to respond accordingly, all of course said wrongly or wrongly 😋
Think I've covered my ass well enough? 👼👼👼👼
