We just bought a second-hand Brenderup 1150s with ABS lid to hold all of our camping gear, but due to lack of space, the trailer is going live at my parents house when not in use, which will unfortunately be outside on gravel. In addition, most of our gear will need to stay in the trailer too. I would like to get a cover to go over the entire thing and keep the elements at bay, but struggling to find anything suitable. Searching for trailer covers mainly comes up with the covers for actually transporting stuff - what I'm after is something more like a cover for a car, but I just don't seem to be able to find one. I have seen the Kampa trailer tent covers which I think will do the job, although perhaps slightly too large. Anyone found anything more specific to this size of trailer (similar to Erde 142/143 and Daxara 147/148).

Also, anyone have any experience with how well equipment will survive over winter in such a trailer, with ABS lid and a full cover? I'll bring sleeping bags, etc. inside, but ideally the tent and other kit would stay there.

Sticking a cover over it may trap moisture inside and cause damp and mould.

I wouldnt leave a tent in a trailer unless it was open to the the elements. it may get damp but it will also get wind to dry it out. sealing it in will just trap the damp and moisture.

Keep our trailer in the back garden covered with a heavey duty tarp secured with bungees.
Never had a problem with moisture as I make sure air can get underneath.
Think I got it off ebay. It's reversible, blue on one side brown on the other.
Brown side is little more subtle.

Thanks for all the tips.

at j kabigat: do you leave your tent, sleeping bags, etc. in the trailer under the tarp? And does your trailer have an ABS lid, or just open under the tarp?

We have the same problem with our dinghies and I have to keep the sails in the boat. They live outside and have simple covers.

Some folks get PVC covers but they get lots of condensation sometimes ending up with water dripping inside.

There are polyester covers designated as breathable which I use. I can put the boat away wet after sailing it in the rain and a few days later it's as dry as a bone.

Our Dandy had a PVC cover and it was always wet underneath in winter, but because the dandy is PVC material not canvas, it did not matter.

In other words, try not to get a PVC cover.

We don't keep the tent in the trailer but we do keep the sleeping bags in vacuum bags and they are fine.
The trailer dosn't have an abs lid but does have a fitted cover secured with bungee cord through eyelets and looped around fixings on the trailer.
Hope this helps.
