We have just got back from our trip in our new (to use) caravan.
One evening, the weather was a little iffy, so we thought we may watch the telly, but ......
As hard as I tried, I could bot get any signal, which lead me to think the aerial may be an old analog one.
Two things lead me to this ...
1. retro fit aerial lead in the front wet-locker fed through to the TV point.
2. absolutely no TV / Radio / Data channels received.
So, my old aerial is a "Status 530".
Is there anything I can to to upgrade it to digital?
The mount is there in the roof and would not want to make any other holes in the caravan.
Any (sensible) ideas welcomed .....
Please remember, I am new to this caravanning lark, so please speak english!
Firstly, Capers, there is no such thing as a "digital " aerial. What you have will work just as well with a digital signal as it did with analogue.
There are three likely causes of your problem.
1. You have not re-tuned the television. You need to do this at each camp site
2. The area you were in had poor reception. Many sites are in hard to reach areas.
3. The aerial wiring is faulty. Very often the braiding shorts out with the inner cable or the coaxial plug has become loose.
Suggest you check these points before changing theaaerial.

I have to agree with the previous post by DaveS1 Option 1)
Whenever you arrive on a new site the first thing to do is to check out in which direction the aerials on nearby houses are pointing, if in doubt, check out the wardens aerial on the site office.
Also note whether the reflectors (stickyout bits) are vertical or horizontally polarised.
Aim your Status 530 in the same direction and set the polarisation either vertical or horizontal as necessary.
Auto Re-tune your TV
You should now be receiving all available channels being transmitted by the local transmitter at which you are now pointing,
If you use the van back at home you will have to repeat the exercise on your return!

------------- Now retired from active caravanning. - really miss it!
Thank for the comments, my replies are -
If theres no such thing as a digital aerial, why did I have to have a new one when we went digital .....
Brand new telly
Booster box turned on
Telly re-tuned several time with aerial pointing roughly in the right direction
Telly taken to another caravan with a working aerial and it tuned in and worked perfectly.
I have bought a tv signal strength box to help me align the aerial, but I suspect that for £16, you get what you pay for .... lol
You didn't need a new aerial just because we went digital. Several fitters said you did !
Definitely sounds as though you have got a fault in your wiring somewhere particularly as the television works in another caravan.
Suggest you check each coaxial plug and socket to ensure each is correctly wired and not shorting across the centre wire and braiding.
If you have a spare co axial extention lead take this direct from the television to the aerial booster. If it then works you will know the fault is somewhere in the caravan wiring.

Some TV transmitters channel groups actually changed during the digital switch over, and although there isn't particularly such a thing as a digital TV aerial, you may have had to have a wide band aerial fitted to be compatible with your transmitters change in operation.
On all other points regarding the current fault, I agree with DaveS1 that you likely have an internal wiring fault, or possibly a failed booster (wouldn't be the first time). Check all cabling and connections from the aerial input to the booster, to the actual TV point.
