I have been searching for a decent practical sink drainer that will fit on a basic small caravan drainer but it appears that in the UK they haven't got a clue what people really need. In America they have designed a fantastic bit of kit for the RV owners whereby you not only stand the dinner plates in a rack but also has two compartments to stand the cutlery and several hooks to hang the cups on the outside and it's not too big like most plastic drainers are. This specific drainer also has a lid which can be used underneath to catch the drained water which is hugely beneficial for those camping under canvas to avoid spills on the groundsheet.
These cleverly designed drainers are available at both Amazon and Ebay but the shipping costs are expensive but I'm sure this product would have a huge demand over here in the UK if sold at the right price. It would be practical not only for caravanners, motorhomers and FC owners but also tent campers and just about anyone that needs a practical small dish drainer.
The only downside I can see is storage problems but it would be interesting to see what your thoughts are and whether you would buy one or not.
That does look cool not sure I'd pay the shipping from the US though. I've brought one of these not quite the same thing but almost there and a lot cheaper:
ALDI / LIDL have the pop up ones occasionally also. Only had a quick glance at some bowls, but wondered how would stand up to the test if time being flat packed and opened out too often?
I've had a folding washing up bowl, bucket and colander for several years now. They all get regular use and show no signs of failing due to being opened and closed. I wouldn't be without them as they save so much space. The folding dish drainer is now on my shopping list

I take it that you are referring to the link in the post by 'jazzij' which looks a practical type of dish drainer actually.
The problem I have is that the sink drainer in my caravan is recessed with a glass lid cover so limited for space. That's why the above drainer is no good as I needed a smaller dish drainer which prompted me in my original post after seeing images on Google which only revealed the RV dish drainer. I am glad I did post on here actually after having received feedback from other members with regarding to similar dish drainers available in the UK.
Well folks, the Kampa storage drainer arrived this morning and how delighted my wife and I are with it too. It was a good price as well at £7.98 including the P&P but thanks to everyone above for your input as it finally solved the problem of searching for a compact dish drainer.
Absolutely great news, may all your dishwashing events now be a pleasure and never a chore.
