Looking for an air awning and wanting something bigger than a 390. I am also looking for a quality material as opposed to lightweight. Can you give me your reccomendation please and any advantages or disadvantages. Thanks.

I have an Outwell Pacific Coast, not the biggest in the range but made with quality materials. As for moving in the wind !? I have seen poles bent, broken and awnings moved over the roof of caravans, of course they move !
Have a look at this

P.S. our last awning was poles as was our porch awning now just have the air awning. very please high winds or not

Vango varkala 420 airbeam. Very happy with it. We have awning stops on the rails and use the storm straps, no problems and its had some rough weather, high winds and rain.OH does take his time pegging out but it's worth it.

I watched them last xmas week ( already taken my awning down )
Air awning was taking a bit of a beating but just bounced back, guy opposite had a Kampa porch awning.. the fibreglass pole pokes through the top and next thing me and this other guy are giving him a hand to take it down as the whole thing caved in.

Probably someone who didn't know how to pitch and peg it properly. Ours is rock steady whatever the wind.

I've previously had the wind collapse my Bradcot aluminium pole awning. With the air awning yes they move but do return to shape and cause no damage.
Not seen the Outwell will take a look at that thanks.

The majority of those power packs are useless on a 2.0+ diesel engine, unless you buy one of the high spec and quite expensive types like the Breakdown services use. The Green flag mechanic said they cost about £600 each to buy, but its the only one that would start our 2.2 Diesel when we had battety problems due to wiring fault.

We tried about 3 of the cheaper ones from Argos and Halfords, but none were powerful enough to start our engine, and ended up being returned to the store. You have the same Kampa Air 390 as us, all l can say is the Kampa pump is not as good as they make it out to be, and certainly not worth the money, it inflated ours to what was supposed to be the correct pressure, only for it to collapse during the first night due to lack of pressure. We found the hand/foot pump far easier and better than faffing with the electric one, and no trailing wires and having to start up the car to use it either.
