Tons of threads on SIMs and camp beds. So many options and so many different opinions. It really is a personal choice.
100 people may say their SIM is perfect and 100 others will say it was useless and they bought something else which was perfect or that was rubbish also and they bought something else and then again and again.
Daughter used a cheaper SIM from Go Outdoors and she said it was fine, but whe will sleep on the bare floor also. So hard to tell whether it was any good.

Got our two ThermaRest DreamTime XL's back in 2008, they fasten together to make a double larger than we have at home.
All I can say, is that they do exactly what it says on the tin!

Ive got two sims from costco that were about £25 each, and two from aldi that were about £15 each. We used them one on top of the other. I would say either one would be ideal for kids. We've also lent them out, and other people said they were comfy. In the summer though, we did upgrade to the Outwell Dreamboat 12cm double, which is pure luxury, but expensive!

Us two adults have 10cm deep SIMs, wider than average because hubby is big, and I wriggle.
Son has a really thin SIM - I think 2.5cm. A cheap one from Aldi/Lidl. But green. Had to be green. He's perfectly happy on that.
Daughter had a 3cm one. Wasn't impressed. Now she has a slightly thicker one and she's very happy.
I'm now thinking of upgrading the adults to camp beds and sims because we are not getting any younger, and the floor seems to be getting a bit lower and harder to get up from every year!

Are the 7.5 and 10 cm sims ok for middle aged bone weary people?
Thinking about them, but not sure if they are more comy than a raised airbed.
What about getting up off the floor?
