Evening folks, is anyone using one of these and if so are they any good as a freezer in my awning, on 240v it can be programmed down to -15, on 12v 20 degrees below the ambient temperature. Advice and comments appreciated. Regards
We have the Mobicool C40 (not B40) and it works fine as a freezer, although when camping we use it as a fridge.
The Waeco is fine, although there is a premium price to be paid for it having that Digital Display, which is a nice luxury but realy needed.
I would forget the Hybrid version of either the Waeco or Mobicool, for hot climes 12v cooling to 20Deg C below ambient is of little use.
If you need proper 12/24v cooling to fridge temps then go for the Mobicool FR40, which is far cheaper than the Waeco equivalent but will do the same job, think VW vs Skoda!
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
We have an old coolfun CK40 that is 240v only, supposed to go down to -15 but on max its only just below freezing during the summer! We have a digital thermometer we leave in it and treat it as you would an icebox in a fridge and only leave veg in it for more than a couple of days. Frozen stuff stays frozen in it and cool blocks do refreeze eventually.
we have the Waco coolfun hybrid and it is amazing we bought it as an extra fridge however have only ever used it as a freezer its brilliant so much so 2 of my friends have bought themselves one ... I should be on commission !!
