Bought the posh version the outwell corvus 1200 and it bright enough to light up my hornet xl
Thank you for that. I looked at the video for the Corvus 1200 and it seems pretty good considering it was filmed in daylight. I can't afford the posh version but the paupers version may well be worth a punt. Thanks again.
Aldi have been selling of there outside Christmas rope lights for a fiver, much safer at 30v with transformer included, a battery powered inspection lamp from wilco would be my choice in a tent, about a fiver and it's handy for toilet trips.
Thanks all for the advice. I decided that at just £11.95 for a 2 metre strip and free postage I would give it a go. I will update the thread when received and tested. If it is not suitable for lighting the tent I can always stick it under a kitchen cabinet or something

Sleeper did you not win one in the Christmas calender?
Bob SK camping got the 600 one for £25 still more than the one you looked at but still it's a good price
I did indeed. The only thing I was looking for was a way to run it via a cigarette lighter plug like the one n the link on Amazon. The Outwell version is run vis a 3 pin plug but has a connector which i am hoping can be changed for said ciggy lighter plug.
Well, the light strip arrived today and is pretty good. Has 120 bright white LED's in a 2 metre strip and certainly lights up my bedroom so should be fine for the tent.
Downsides...the advert said it came with 1 metre of power cable. In fact the power cable is only 44 cm long so I may need an extension or trailing lead so that I can fit the light strip to the top of the inner tent. I have emailed the seller regarding this and waiting for a reply.
The strip is quite stiff because it is inside a plastic waterproof conduit but should be flexible enough. It doesn't have anything to hang it with so I will have to use clothes pegs or something. It may sit inside the velcro tabs that are intended for a light cable though.
I am confident it will light the tent better than my small table lamp.
Vango are releasing their own strip lighting shortly called sunbeam 450, there isn't much details about it as yet Rrp is 120 but some shops have it listed for £100 . I think it's due for release in February
Just piping in to see if anyone has any experience with 18650 battery cell lanterns, I have a lot of the cells available and use them in cree LED torches for cycling and general use. Thinking the batteries are much more powerful than AA/AAA and could power a suitable low power lantern/light for a whole night at least.
I'll post a link to eBay if allowed...?
