Hi
Any help would be appreciated.
We're looking to get a smallish gas bbq for a family of 4.
I like the look of the Campingaz Party grill 400 and Cadac Safari Chef. But then there's the Party grill 200 and the Campingaz 3 in 1.
We have a gas stove (which we have never used) as we go for electric hook up and use kettle and toaster.
We also have a charcoal bbq. But to save space we thought go for a gas bbq with a stove should we need to boil something.
But reading threads some seem to prefer one make others prefer the other make and I'm getting (easily) confused.
Help!!!
Thanks
The thing I like the look about the party grill 400 is that it's slightly larger than the Cadac at 36 cm against 32 cm to bbq for 4 healthy appetites, although the Cadac does seem to be favoured by most. Is 32 cm large enough for 4?
We have the Cadac Safari Chef 2 and I would say yes and no to the question of 4 people. The lid come pan fits all in one meals great but I would not like to cook for 4 on griddle etc. I like the Cadac but it does have it's faults in my opinion. Fortunately my wife is a sheet metal worker so she kindly made a few improvements which has helped with at least one of the issues.
The regulator that comes with hose attached is poor quality and on occasion has leaked gas out of the back.
I will keep using it though as it is very flexible in both its design and gas canister choices with the use of third party adaptor.
We looked at the Campingaz version and I preferred the Cadac .....but I have forgotten the reasons.
Would recommend checking build quality on both units before purchase if you can.
If you normally go on a pitch with electric hook up then why not consider the Quest Maxi Grill which operates at just 1300 watts. It takes up less storage space, easy to clean and any fat is collected in the tray underneath. We find it more convenient than a gas barbeque, less hassle cleaning the non stick surface and saving on gas.
Many thanks for your replies and suggestions. I think a trip to Go Outdoors is required to see the various items and suggestions in the flesh. I like the look of certain features on different items, so I suppose it's a case of 'you pay your money, you take your choice!' 😊
