Recently purchased a Isabella Capri Awning. The size required on Isabella website is 1100, so that's what was ordered. However I noticed after setting up, that the size label shows 1150, but has been scribbled out and 1100 written in pen and the same has been done on carry bag. The bungee straps at the bottom of the awning remain loose. Would Isabella do this?
Normally you get 2 sizes from 1100 to 1150 because they are not sold in every size but in steps of approx 50cm, depending on the model and brand. Some maybe 25cm steps.
Also dont forget that the fit will depend on the pitch also. I find that raising the caravan on the awning side very slightly gives my awning a perfect fit. All you need is a slight bump or dip to the pitch and the fit maybe different to the last time you used it.
I'm not sure about other awning's, I expect they have some leeway. However Isabella, sell in increments of 25cm. So our awning for our caravan is sized at 1100...not 1075 or 1125. Which brings me back to my own purchase of size 1100. Want I'm trying to figure out, is why I would be sent an awning size of 1150, which is then changed by biro to 1100, changing the size of the awning by pen, does not change the awning size! Unless it was a manufacturing mistake, if so, surely it would come with documentation to that effect?
I suspect dealer may have had it altered by Isabella to clear stock of a large awning. Awnings of 1150 are not big sellers, especiallly the Capri which is not designed to be used as a seasonal pitch awning.
