Thanks a lot for providing me with the link. I've had bad experiences previously with cheaper hobs as they don't tend to hold up the temperature for long so I dont mind paying a bit more.
A friend of mine recommended me a hob by Palson.
Has anyone used this particular hob before? I will order it tonight and give it a try.https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B010NAUNBM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491916580&sr=8-1&ke........
That one is 2400w so not really suitable for camping.
On a 10amp site you get 2300w maximum for all your appliances combined.
On a 6amp site you only get 1300w so that should be your maximum really.
Of course, if you only use 16amp sites then you should be fine as long as you buy a 16amp hookup kit.

Just to clarify, it doesn't matter that your hook up lead is capable of carrying 16 amps but if the site is only providing 6 or 10 amps then using a 2400 watt appliance will blow the pitch cut-out.

Would be able to run one plate on a 6A site unless it's 2400watts per plate. 1200wattts wouldn't be very powerful.
it doesn't have a grille
You might find a gas hob & grill better

Looks like a nice bit of kit. I have something similar (though a lot cheaper) and discovered when camping in February that it turns itself on when it gets properly cold - i.e. fridge temperature, 4 centigrade-ish. Yours is a lot better quality but if you ever take up winter camping, a) don't leave stuff on top of it overnight and b) let us know if it tries to kill you.

I have the Russell Hobbs hob and it is fine and only around £30. Bought mine from Currys. It is also only a total of 1250 watts with both plates on so ideal for a 10 amp campsite supply.

Look out for the induction hobs when they are on sale at Aldi or Lidl.

But remember you'll have to have suitable cookware to put on them ...

Ours looks like the Russell Hobbs (Bob61) one, above. It is a £20 one from Aldi. Only problem we have is a camping kettle does not heat up as they do not have a flat base. We had to buy an electric kettle - no more whistling one for us.
