Hi im just in the process of getting a folding caravan which is fitted with a mover. However im not sure it will be surfice to get up my drive so I've opted to fit a winch, which is a bit over kill but better to be more than not. The winch will be fitted in the garage and the cable run out to the van . my question is, is there a device I can purchase that will allow me to connect the cable hook to the vans hitch, something like a metal bar with a tow ball on one end and a suitable hook eye at the other.

Buy a decent size hitch lock and it will double up as a anchor point for your winch cable you could choke a canvas sling behind it.

Hi,
I used to use a winch as per first picture link below.
I had a rawlbolted steel plate with welded eye at top of drive.
It worked a treat.
