My wife bought me an electric hook up for my birthday so I can now invest in an electric fridge instead of having to rely on a cool box. Really looking forward to getting one actually so I don't have to freeze everything and it will be almost certain to keep cool all of the time.

Looking at the 3 way fridges like dometic (which i think is the new name for waeco) or a royal 3 way fridge. It seems to be the best type of price range of about £180. They are a bit large but i'll have to fit it in the car somehow.

Mobicool FR40 if you need 12/24v operation as well as mains, or the Mobicool C40 (not B40) if you can get away with mains only.

Both are compressor units, so ambient temp is not an issue.

Just for your info Francais, the C40, wait for it........not the B40 , is now discontinued.

Thanks Blueexpo97, it's a dam shame that Mobicool have dropped the C40 from the line up.

For me the B40 is a compromise to far, if I am ever in the market again for a camping fridge, it would without doubt be the Mobicool FR40.

Just glad I got my Mobicool C40 when I did.

Got a new C40 yesterday, arrived damaged, the plastic grille along the back. Sent where I got it pics and they gave me a £40 refund. It had been the last one in stock.
Took grille off and brought into work today and got it repaired with aircraft epoxy, now looks good as new.

Well done Blueexpo97, you got a good result on that deal.

The packing on the C40 was quite woefull, and others on here received damage units, when ordering from Obelink.

Hi folks, I realise this is an old thread but I just wanted to jump on and say thanks for all the reviews and comments about the Mobicool FR40 (particular thanks to Francais, Lidds0 and Mucker1884 for the detailed posts).

Our new FR40 arrived last week from SVB.de, it was by far the cheapest price, we got it on offer at only €289 + €9 postage. We tried it out at the weekend and it is brilliant, cant wait to test it out in France in August. The husband is very excited at the thought of cold beer all day and not having to hunt out ice blocks in supermarkets every few days to chill a coolbox.

Good choice! And really great price! How did you get it for €289? Its currently showing as €319,95 on SVB's website.

Yep, and thanks TheClods, I am so tempted to get a FR40 myself, due to not being able to take the trailer with us this year space has been at a premium, so we had to leave the C40 behind, and are back to relying on the CF25 as our only fridge.

Don’t get me wrong the CF25 is a brilliant piece of kit, but as the main fridge for our fortnight campings down here in Frejus, it’s capacity has been somewhat of a challenge.

Although with temps at 42 C, the little Waeco has performed perfectly.

I've just bought an FR40 from Amazon.de for €289 + €18 delivery. You can login with your Amazon.co.uk details and change the language to English. Ordered it on Thursday afternoon and it arrived on Saturday.

Brilliant!
I can waffle on sometimes, I know, but every now and again it leads to something like this. Glad to be of service, and thrilled you are as delighted with yours, as we continue to be with ours.
