After having pruchased a Coleman 2 burner cooker as I didn't want to be bothered with gas cylinders etc. It has been suggested to me that they may be difficult to light. Has anyone any experience of these cookers? if so how do you find them. Do you burn unleaded petrol or coleman fuel? Are they easy to use? I look forward to hearing from anyone who may have any thoughts on these burners. It only arrived yesterday and I have to say that it looks a lot more complicated than I thought but I'm sure it will be okay when I get the hang of it. . . .
We use one. I'm sure you will have no problems. We use unleaded petrol. Be careful how u store this. U can get a special container from camping shops. Follow instructions printed on the lid and it will be fine. Let us know how u get on.Also there have been loads of previous threads about these. Do a search and i'm sure u will pick up some tips.
I have just found a couple of really helpful threads. Very informative and answered some questions I hadn't even thought of. Like keep thumb over the wee hole whilst pumping. Why didn't i think to do a search before? Hmmm thanks anyway. Really pleased that I decided to buy one now . . .
The coleman duel fuel double burner is the muts nuts.. We have used one for years now and it really is a fantastic bit of kit... Use the coleman fuel now and again, its a cleaner fuel than normal petrol and helps to clean the generator of any debris and carbon... The cleaner the fuel the longer it will stay clean in the tubes etc...

Hi, I am a newbie and have just returned from camping with my son. I bought one of these stoves last week and used it for the first time over the last couple of days and found it to be bulletproof. When lighting it make sure you turn the switch a good couple of turns while holding a match over it. Really good fuel consumption, no complaints at all. Good luck
Bit iffy using matches, tried that, but because it can take a couple of seconds for the vapour to ignite I just ended up with blackened, smoldering fingers. Get one of those long-nosed gas lighters, much easier and you won't have the smell of burning flesh.
To prevent burning fingers I used the longer matches and returned home with all fingers intact. Practised at home for a while before going away which helped as well. Good luck
