what do people find is the best storage / unit to use once onsite ? i have most of my kit packed into two massive trunks which become like tables when we arive but i need somthing else easier to access because if not i spend ages clearing top o get into trunk for bits that have stayed in it i need an open unit of some sort think.
ive had a quick look but they all seem very expensive so want to make sure i get the right one , somthing quite strong but not too huge to transport .
I have several of the Hi-tec 4 shelf cupboards from go-outdoors, though the same ones are also made by other companies and actually The Range had some in for £30 last year.
2 of the ones I have are concertina ones and are amazing. They fold almost completely flat then just pop up, you slide the shelves in and have shelves for clothing (or even food) plus a top you can use. They also have a couple of side pockets which fit phones/remote controls etc.
Unfortunately they changed the design for this year and they are no longer concertina. I'm guessing that factory in china either closed down or couldnt produce to the same price point.
Now instead, they have a clip on top and a frame which opens out with 2 velcro straps you pass underneath and attach.
The shelves themselves are identical and the space is the same size but the units overall are a little larger. They have 4 feet instead of a flat bottom.
You can find identical units at Go Outdoors, The Range, Millets, Whinfields and probably local camping stores too. They all appear to be made in the same factory with identical designs and the only differences being the colourways.
Mine are packed in the car at the moment ready to go away this weekend but I'll get some photos if you like over the weekend?
Thankyou x i would very much appreciate seeing photos of them in action so i can get an idea of what they can hold .
Im looking for somthing to hold all the bits and bobs when not in use stuff like pots and pans , plates , cups , ideally with a top where i can set up our charging station .
unfortunatly gadgets are very very important to son no 1 so i have several on the go either charging in use or flat !
i did manage to pick up a hanging thingy that has many many pockets which helped a lot but there was still a fair bit trapped in the trunks or kicking about the floor .
we managed our first weekend away and have booked our next one for september , rock pegs arrived today now im searching storage .
If it is for the kitchen side of things then value for money I dont think you can beat the Eurohike Base Camp. It's £40 and folds flat, comes in it's own bag and has adjustable legs. Large worktop area and 2 cupboards each with shelves. We got all our plates/cups/cutlery in one side and food in the other
kitchen wise i have a basic fold up unit with a top for the cooker and a couple of shelfs under neath for bits and bobs like food but its not big enough for everything.
i have a reasonably big table from aldi or lidl which folds and has stools with it .
currently everything elsee has to go in the trunks it travels in .
