I bought a single burner gas stove as back up for me my old 2 ring cooker, gas canisters for the new stove didnt last very long and not very happy with the gas ring either, are some makes better that others and does the gas evaporate in them ?
Don't know about that particular stove. Cylinders for them mostly contain 220 to 227g gas which is not a lot, around an hour flat out if you're lucky. It shouldn't evaporate but you do need to take the cylinder out and cap it when you're not using it. They use a simple pressure valve so can easily get wedged open.
Hi
I've no idea as to the variations in the "efficiency" of these suitcase stoves but the cheaper ones(as in that Amazon link)don't tend to have a *windshield ring around the burner..which probabaly won't help for starters..
(*Check out the arrangement on the Campingaz Bistro version)
Either way, a wind shield of sorts helps them no end..but even then, some canisters can quickly lose the "umph" required to swiftly boil a kettle. (but we find that those that do, can still have plenty left to fry-up or simmer through a meal)
We've found that our campingaz stove has been better than our cheaper one and campingaz is definitely better than cheap gas - it seems to burn hotter/ more efficiently.
