Topic: Pizza stone on cheap gas bbq

I've just checked and the cadac 10" pizza stone will fit onto my Outwell Azado BBQ. Question is, will it cook a pizza? Anyone any the wiser before I splash out £15?

Just bought one from Homebase to use on a Campingaz party grill 60p and yes it does. £16 with supporting stand and cutter.

I have a cadac and I find if I turn the gas low I can cook a pizza on the grill plate. There's enough room around the edges for a few oven chips too but you need to turn the chips as they cook.
I've previously heated pizzas on the bars of various gas BBQ's turned to lowest settings.
Crispy base is good.

The pizza stone is one of our best purchases for the van. We've never had a problem with it but a lot of people seem to get burnt bases. as long as it's on a low heat and you sprinkle flour on the stone before putting the pizza on it should be fine. Morrisons were selling pizza stones for £5 recently, may be worth looking there to save yourself some money over a branded Cadac one.

Thanks for all the advice guys. We need a very small stone, no more than 10in to fit onto the bbq, hence looking at the Cadac. However if anyone knows of a cheaper small stone please let me know.

We recently purchased an 11"stone from a branch of ProCook for £3.99, maybe too big though.

We bit the bullet & got a Cadac last year. I always put the cold stone on the bbq to heat up, never put the stone on a hot bbq as the shock will crack it.
