Funny how one's views (and outlook on budget) changes, isn't it Mucker?! Your comment made me smile (as so many of your comments do!).
My apologies on linking to a different version of Exped mat. I was just making the point that nothing is faultless (but some things are more faultless than others...hey, there's a book in there, somewhere!).
We maybe ought to start a new thread on...the camping items we haven't upgraded or replaced. Might be interesting to see which items stand the test of time, and/or why people love 'em? Let's do it!

If you can afford it the exped that mucker has recommended is a no brainer. It's very well reviewed in general and only heard positive things from users.
Yes, I looked that one up. Unfortunately I live in a council house so can't remortgage to buy it. I believe Mucker lives in a castle and has a butler so is used to the finer things in life

Fishing beds are very comfortable - I got one after reading about them on here. The downside is that they're quite bulky and more expensive than other options but, in my opinion, the extra expense is worth it.
We changed to fishing beds this year. unfortunately they are bulky and do cost a bit to buy new (though I got ours 2nd hand for £30 each). They are really comfy though and can store things underneath them too.
