Hi all,i am looking at buying the milenco caravan leveller,but i am wondering if when jacking it up will interfere with the motor mover.They look fairly close.

We were thinking of buying one, I spoke to a supplier who said they are very heavy, despite being aluminium.
They recommended the chock kind ........... For those who are of more mature years.

Never had any issues with mine. The mover would have to be very low to hinder the leveller.

I previously looked at those, but how are they on soft ground? They look like the bars will sink right in.

I've now got a twin axle so went for those air bag type leveller, and can confirm there is minimal sinking in soft ground due to the full footprint/surface area. I've a motor mover aswell and no interference.
Certainly beats the rigmarole of lining up the wedge type too.

Might be worth a look at, I got a £30 Halfords rechargeable compressor/air pump so it takes just a minute to inflate. Handy for tyre pressures too.

(I've absolutely no connection with those air bag levellers, infact I can't remember the name of company right now. I'm just a happy user)

Do they go as high as the top level of a chock type, insiorc?

Yeah the leveller will sink in soft ground, but only as much as the tyre would sink anyway.

You can still pull the van away leaving the mover in place though or use a motor mover and then collect the leveller afterwards.

They say the inflatable leveller will lift over 5 inches but it didnt seem to lift anywhere near that in their video.

Depends on the chock, I've only got the tapered wedge type which aren't as high as the stepped types I've seen. I've just checked online and it says up to 6" lift, but I'd guess I've only been up about 4" although there seemed plenty more to go.

A few weeks ago my friend and I parked up on grass (not a site), I was on the air leveller, he was using a wedge. After 3 nights, 1 complete day was heavy rain, my caravan was still level but his wedge had sunk down so much we had to dig it out. It's all to do with the surface area spreading the weight (my caravan is heavier too). I do still carry the wedges, but would only consider using them if at risk of puncturing the air bags although they are made of very strong material, it looks like big fire hose material.     Easy enough to put a protector underneath though.

We do a lot of Rallies, so we have pitched on a lot of uneven ground. I use a big yellow stepped leveller and on occasion I have put it on blocks to get it higher still.   I know a few people who use the the lock and level devices particularly with twin axle vans. But in over 200 Rallies I have seen a milenco leveller being used precisely once. Which suggest to me they are not great or at least there are easier and or cheaper ways of doing the job.

They are quite pricey when new. I picked mine up from a recyling centre with a mitre saw and paid £3 for both items.

For that money im sure there would be more in use

Another vote for the Lock'n'Level airbag. Have used it at home on the drive and it was an absolute dream, much easier than any form of ramp or jack I have tried in the past. I carry a bit of left-over carpet to put under the bag if I think there will be a chance of stones on a hardstanding causing trouble.

Will be trying it out for the first time 'in the wild' next week ....
