Just remembered, my wife and I were at a site near The Wash (No Pun Intended) I was in the shower block on my own, and kept pressing the button.
This was a new shower block, with a silly fire detection system. I suspect the mist affected an optical sensor that measured the intensity of light from emitter to detector, and it deduced smoke.
The power got cut off, the fire alarm sounded. I just kept still and quiet, at least 2 minutes passed before anyone entered (my wife saw them get their Hi-Vis gear first) the inspection seemed more concerned with the (Newly refurbished) building than a human still in there.
Eventually, after he opened the windows wider, the power returned, so I completed washing the soap off and got dried and dressed before exiting.
I cannot recall if anyone (apart from my wife) noticed me exit.
------------- In the beginning there was darkness.
Then I bought a tent.
I'm not destitute, I'm just poor.

Not too fussed about push button showers. Even if you only get 5 seconds, it's no biggy to push again and again as required. I too leave it off whilst shampooing hair/soaping up.
What does really annoy me though, are push taps, that go off as soon as you let go!!
So the options are, wash one-handed, which as well as being impractical, also means I'm in constant touch with the tap with a dirty hand, whilst I get at least one hand clean first! The other option is to hold the tap and fill the wash basin... but being a little OCD, even the cleanest looking basin will get a thorough rinse from me first, so not only am I using much more water than I need, I'm also rubbing my hands all over the basin and the taps... and remember folks... I've just come out of the bog!!
Just give us taps that deliver at least 10 seconds worth of water, to at least give us a chance!! If you insist on saving water, get a shower head type rather than gushing water!
Next week's rant... cold hand driers in the winter!!
...And the week after... Cheap/weak paper towels that are packed so tightly in the dispenser, it is impossible to pull out more than one square inch of soggy paper towel because it keeps bloody ripping!!
