I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit with removable tow-bar and bespoke electric harness and 13 pin socket. The tow-bar is fine and the 13 pin socket folds up transversely under the rear if the car. The 13 pin socket fills up with water and fuses the auxiliary and refrigerator supplies. The pins in the socket also corrode and the Can-bus switches also cease to work. I am now on my third socket after only 8 months. I dried out the socket with a hair dryer, drove two miles on wet roads (but not raining) and by return drained a cup full of water from the socket. It affects the road electrics too as it shorts the traffic indicators and sounds the warning. I have tried plastic bags wrapped around the socket and bracket, bespoke plastic caps, checked the rubber seal to the spring cap but still have the problem. The tow bar fitting firm are at a loss to explain why.
Has anyone a solution please?

Unfortunately this forum does not seem to have the means to post photos other than via a web page which I do not have.
Hiya, you can add pictures to your profile if you would like to from here
Have you tried fitting the green cap which is both a sealed cover and re-setting tool? The ears on it are only fractionally larger than the 13 pin socket so hopefully will still fit
My local tow bar specialist is going to refit the socket with a different design "Right" 13 pin socket with a side entry backing rubber boot. This should allow the wiring to point down when stowed and horizontal when in use.
