So we are going to a festival and taking a Dometic 3 way fridge/cool box.
As it will be running on gas we fully understand that it cant go in the tent.
The festival were we are going is a ggod 10 min walk from the camp site so if it starts to rain by the time i get back to camp it will allready be wet (dont know if there waterproof)
My mate suggested that we get a pop up shower/toilet and put it in there??
Would this be ok or has anyone got any better advice.
I would also like it to be out of sight just in cas mr light fingers walks past.

Look at the Coleman xtreme range of passive coolboxes. You simply put supermarket ice cubes in and the water can be drained out of the bottom plug. You can have it right beside you in the tent for that morning can of Stella :)

Coolbox in the tent seems a better option. An expensive three way camping fridge out in the open could go walk about!

Hi..
If you want to take what you've already got, rather than buy a passive 'box (..and you aren't concerned about your fridge going walkies?), then I'd agree with your mate..

Also what about a cheap,1-2 man single skinned pop-up tent, with some slits/holes cut into the bottom?

*You could even hammer through a hefty ground stake(or use an adapted corkscrew do tether?)and lock your fridge & bottle to that..just to stop it being "snatched"..?)

I have got two coolbox one passive and one three way. We need to take both as all the breakfast stuff needs to go in one and all the drinks in another.
But thank you for the idea.

What a good Idea I have some large cork screw things for the dogs leads. It will prob stop a quick snatch if we fasten two together with gas bottles. There is plenty of security walking around so i cant imagine anyone taking some bolt croppers.

I run ours inside the tent at festivals and as far as I'm aware it hasn't killed me yet. It's about the same CO risk as a tea light. Vents open plus a CO alarm if you're anxious.

I take it that it does not get too hot then. I was worried about the heat more than anything.

It has little or no effect on the temp of the tent but you should keep the flue away from the fabric. It does have to work hard if it's sunny but it copes fine.

Yes a "..DOG..tether" not a "..do tether", as I initially posted..
(quite frankly, if anyone want's to steal our "do", they are welcome to it! )

When we tented at festivals, after having the occasional, admittedly low value, item go walkies, we started threading a cable lock through stuff(chairs/table etc),with it fastened to a shortened corkscrew tether..

Quick update on the events.
We put 2 fridges mine is a dometic and my mates is a royal, both on gas 7kg bottle in a pop up aldi toilet with no problems at all. When we went for a week camping I had hook up and again it was fine in my porch area.
