Our airbed has died!! We need to replace with a new one. We want one that is self inflating/deflating. Cost is not an issue just need a really good one. Any advice welcome, thank you! 😊
Do you mean a Self Inflating Mat or are you looking for an airbed with built in pump?
If it's the latter then I highly recommend the Intex ones. Do a google for Only-Airbeds
Be aware though that at this time of year stocks are very low and may not be replenished until after the summer so if the one you fancy isnt in stock then google the model as these guys are the distributors so it may be their stock is already at another retailer.

Hi, yes we want a bed with built in pump. Thanks will have a look. Seen an aerobed with built in pump in Argos reduced with good reviews to.Thank you.
One slight problem with reviews is that most of them are posted almost immediately after buying - in fact review companies actively pursue buyers to leave reviews almost instantly. Strangely you even see people giving 5 star reviews with stupid comments like 'looks great, cant wait to use it' which of course is not a review at all.
The best reviews are almost what I'd call 'reviews revisited' that is a review of a product after several uses/months etc.
Great to know that an airbed pumps up and is comfortable straight from the box - but it's more useful to know what it is like after a few months of use.
What are the views comfort wise on the big, high off the ground airbeds?
We normally use a Thermarest a piece but have just discovered that both have leaks and are unlikely to be repaired before an upcoming trip. But I've had my eye on something like this those Intex ones for awhile.
Are they obscenely bulky and take up a tonne of boot space?
Can they be pumped up manually if you haven't got EHU?
And are they comfortable?
Hope I'm not derailing the thread with my own questions OP, it just seemed silly to start a new one.
I have ordered Intex Fiber-Tech Prime Comfort Queen Size Raised Airbed with Built in Electric Pump. Looks like a good bed, currently in Lesvos, Greece so have to wait to try it 😊😊
I can recommend the Exped synmats
They are not self inflating, but you can buy a very clever bag which attaches and you squeeze the air into the mattress.
It works a treat and inflates in seconds.
Also insulated so keeps you warm.
Have had one for a couple of years and no leaks so far.
we have had the intex queen air bed for about 5 years now and its been well used, we do have to add a bit of air each night on hot days but no complaints so far

I have recently purchased a Tesco raised double airbed (4'6") and about 15" high (supposed to be 18" high but isn't). I was impressed that it pumps up in under 3 minutes and also deflates using the integral pump in under 3 minutes. It has a separate valve for pumping up manually if required...the sort of valve you get on a cheap Lilo type airbed.
I have not tested it in the field yet (first trip with it tomorrow) but it seemed comfortable enough indoors. It easily folds down into a square about the size of a Tesco plastic carrier bag. I obviously don't know how well it will perform re deflating yet but I will certainly report back.
Just back from my camping trip and I have to say that the Tesco raised double airbed was fine. I followed previous advice and let a little air out during the day then pumped it up harder at night and I can say that it hasn't leaked...yet.
However, in my case it wasn't without problems. The bed took up a good half of my bedroom pod and fitted like a glove. Unfortunately that meant that trying to fit a fleece blanket and then a fitted sheet proved difficult and time consuming because I could not get to the far side of the bed without kneeling on it. I came to the conclusion that I was a little over zealous buying a double and a large single or 'twin' might have been more appropriate.
I used a double summer duvet which only just reached either side of the airbed. Consequently, as I have previously commented with regards to airbeds, I was blooming cold! The bed beneath me actually felt cold (and I left the fan heater in the car and couldn't be bothered going to get it in the middle of the night) and that was with carpet below the bed, and a fleece blanket and fitted sheet on top. It was a pretty warm night too!
So...to summarise...I can't fault the bed itself. It pumped up quickly and did not seem to lose any air. Unfortunately I may have to sell it on and buy a single which will be easier to handle and probably easier to insulate with more blankets and/or thicker duvet...or back to the sleeping bag!
