I have an Outwell heated carpet, which has to be the absolute pinnacle of ridiculousness. There is a problem though: we camp all year and it's excellent. There is at least one retailer with them at half price at the moment.
My latest addition was a cheap £20 Better Dri Freestanding rotary airer from Argos (it appears to have gone up in price since I bought it). Was used every day for drying towels and swimming costumes on our last trip.
I'd really like a non electric lamp that doesn't give off a cold white light, but am yet to find one.

Chateau de Montfreville (Montfreville)
I think that's a UFO light isn't it, Bob? I don't know why they can't manufacture a regular lantern with a warm light bulb instead of the horrible bright white ones they all seem to use.
I'm thinking I might have to buy a more compact kitchen, since we've just sold the TT and - in the absence of a trailer - will have to scale down kit. Or, buy a trailer !

What's the finish like on those carpets? I've no idea why on earth Outwell stopped manufacture of the thicker, fleecier carpets (think pre-2012) and wish I'd held on to ours! Most other makes of carpet I've looked at don't have the thick vinyl backing our old Outwell ones used to have (stops them rucking up).

The backing is good: tough, with non-slip nubbles all over, but the top is a feeble, satiny, quilted affair which won't survive high traffic or even a determinedly wriggly child. It really needs to go under a tent carpet. I'm guessing they designed it for bedroom pods. If the top were more like the bottom it'd all make a lot more sense, but with them available at half price at the moment I'm quite tempted to get another. They are light and very squashy when packed, so they're not much of an overhead.
I was very tempted by the collapz bucket with the tap at the bottom: very stylish, in a range of fabulous colours, for £29.
But decided I really didn't need one,
I do a lot of wild camping and I really fancy a stormin Norman cone windshield for my meths stoves, really don't need one as I have normal windshields, mind you I probably don't need 5 different style of meths stove either, but I do like my gadgets
Thanks to that post and a bit of Googling I now see you can get an inflatable limbo game, to add to that healthy outdoor campsite fun. Cheers, SHThomas!
