We have just bought a Coleman Cortes Octagon 8 tent and put it up in the garden to try it. All fine but noticed a very small L-shaped tear of around 5mm. There are repair patches withe tent. Are these generally self adhesive and do they work? Is there an optimum way of applying them?
Coleman repair kits are good. The patches are self adhesive but tack (sew) the tear first before applying the patch and if possible from both sides.

It is new but we set it up in the garden and may have caused the tiny tear setting it up. It would be a hassle sending it back, although Amazon are usually very good at replacing faulty items. If repairs are reliable then that would be a lot easier.
Have used Tenacious Tape before, really good stuff used to repair sails on boats.
It's clear sticks, incredibly well, and very, comes in a protective tube, and is a very handy to keep in the tent bag for repairs.

Agree with beachhuggy, we have used tenacious tape before as a temporary repair and it is still there three years later! We just put a patch on both sides of a hole and job done.
If using tenacious tape, round off the corners so it looks like a plaster. It will stick better and not peel off.

Thanks. The tenacious tape has arrived but I might try the patches that colemans have supplied first. It is a very small tear. The tenacious tape is going to be handy to have with us.
