What make rack is it, I got the Mont Blanc Classic for the VW Golf mk6, then when the mk7 arrived it was just a case of buying the relevant feet fittings, £15 for the kit, original set up was just shy of £100.
The Mont Blanc is a solid fit when on, but I do wish they would come up with a better locating system on modern cars, as current set ups don't inspire confidence, like what the old Skool gutter mount racks used to,
A car with roof rails seems to be the best option these days, although I don't get the choice being a company car driver, in a stupidly rigid scheme.
OEM racks are often well over priced.
