Hi all, does anyone out there have a remote unit for sale please as we have lost ours. Our mover is fitted to a 2001 caravan, if you have can you let me have details and a price please.
Thank You.
A friend in the electronics industry who knows a lot about infra red remote controls suggested something to me and I had to try it. Unbelievably it works. If you have lost your remote control for your Powrtouch or Reich Motor Mover, or its stopped working you can use a standard Sky or Sky + remote. If you key in 3665 followed by the "help" button you can operate your motor mover using the up and down and side to side controls on the Sky remote.
Even if you get the correct remote for the mover you have to pair it into the control box .As every mover is coded different,I cannot possibly we how a sky remote will work it.
birdman101 is absolutely right so it's a possibilty that you will have to purchase a replacement handset direct from Powrtouch. The handset and mover need to be dedicated so will have to be programmed respectively which they may have to arrange for an engineer to install the corresponding codes required.
How can you lose a remote control unit though as it's not like it trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Powrtouch don't have any mk1 remote controls anymore, easy to lose, you just need to put it on the A frame for a moment and someone asks you something............

How do we actually know it's a Mk1 remote control handset that the OP needs?
I know their caravan is a 2001 model as stated in their initial post but the motor mover may have been fitted at a later date which could possibly be a newer type handset.
A bit more information from the OP at this stage may be helpful to clarify more details on this.
If you get a new remote. locate the reset button on the control box ensuring power is first switched on and battery is in remote.Press the two Red buttons and press and hold reset button down and the Red LED will start flashing.Pairing is then done. Should add this is for the older movers.
For the later ones there should be a plastic pin supplied attached under the control box hinged lid. Push this through the small hole marked R Then press the two buttons on remote to switch it on and it will transmit a signal to the controller which will automatically code.
As well is two words!
