You are being an old grump, what a ridiculous assumption to make.
Our tent doesn't have a very big living area so we use our Event Shelter for cooking and sitting in when the weather isn't good. We don't have late night parties and are considerate campers.

An event shelter on a campsite? I can imagine other campers reactions to noisy parties late in the night in such shelters as that is what most people use them for.
In their own gardens at home - yes, but on a site where others are sharing I would say is a no no. Anyone else feel like this or am I being an old grump with no right to camp.
On a similar vein - I am caught between buying the Hi Gear 350 Haven and the Coleman 3m x 3m event shelter. The Hi Gear is a bit too big for my needs (and patio) but seems to be far more waterproof than the Coleman - a hydro static head of 6oo vs 3000.
Can anyone reccomend a 3mx3m event shelter that is as waterproof as the Hi Gear?
Thanks.
We have a HiGear dome shelter as mentioned earlier in the thread, it's about 3m, but I'm not sure if they still make them. It's great because it has permanent mesh on 2 sides and and the other 2 sides are also mesh but zip right round. We bought walls for 3 sides which just clip on and it doesn't let any rain in with those on. Wonder if you could maybe pick up one second hand? When I googled it there are a few very similar. Hope this helps.

I've got the biggest Coleman shelter plus sides. Gets used once a year as a social space in bad weather & as a pub on a rally field well away from non participants. Had it nine years I think. I've had to reinforce some of the plastic pole junctions with cable ties (very effective), & replace a broken pole join spring & replace the knackered holdall. Been a good buy. Several folk use them at same event for displays or for cooking or outdoor sun/rain shelter. Its stood up to some summer storms.
I had a Coleman Event Shade Shelter 3 x 3m which I bought last year in Holland as shade from the heatwave. It has 1000hh and 50+ UV Guard. It was very sturdy, although I did take it down one night when high winds were forecast. It doesn't have sides but I was very pleased with it.
Take a look at the quest pop up gazebo 6 or 4 sided.
Brilliant bit of kit.
