I'm thinking of buying a Kampa (or similar) electric hob for my motorhome but I am led to believe that the motorhome will only take electric equipment up to 700 watt but these electric hobs are 1000w will they trip out the electric in the motorhome and/or the external supply? Please let me know.

Thanks

Your motorhome supply should be capable of up to 16amp if it a properly installed system so you can use the hob. The only limitation will be your ehu mains supply. For example if campsite supply is only 10amp then you can use one piece of equipment at a time up to just over 2000w. If you go to France sometimes you can have as little as 6amps but even that will run a 1000watt hob provided nothing else is plugged that draws high current.

High current draw are appliances that get hot. Kettles, hobs, hairdryers. Stuff like chargers & your fridge draw very little. So while hob is on do not switch on kettle or you may trip site supply.

I think you should be fine with a single hob.
