Hi, bit of a long shot this one but does anyone have pictures or instructions of the tow hitch accessory fitted to the bigfoot mover, as you can no longer buy these things I thought I'd have a go at making one but i could do with some pictures of how they fit, especially what I take to be the hinged bit at the back? I have downloaded the brochure & looked on you tube but I can't find anything that's very clear, any help would be appreciated, or failing that does anyone have one for sale?

Towhitch accessory? It clamps in place of the original jockey wheel normally.
Is that the one where you fit a towball instead? Make your own from a flanged towball and a jockey wheel clamp?

Bigfoot do two attachments as well as the original jockey wheel replacement, the one that im interested in provides a tow ball which allows you to use the caravan tow hitch without removing the original jockey wheel. As i said in my original post I don't mind having a go at making one but i can only find pictures of the ball end of the attachment & how it fastens to the original jockey wheel via a clamp, but from what i can see the opposite end of the plate to the ball has what looks like a cut out hinged piece of metal & in most photos there's also another separate small gold coloured bracket that looks like it works with with this flap somehow, maybe fastening to the mover itself? I don't know! Before i attempt to make one i could do with a picture or someone who has one of these explaining how this end of the attachment works
Having had another look at one of the pictures that i have, it looks like this bracket could attach to the A frame of the van somehow but i am clutching at straws

Several options and you can make it as easy or hard as you want.
Easy option get a jockey wheel clamp to clamp the the shaft on the mover and bolt/weld a flanged towball to the clamp.
Replace the shaft on the mover with a shorter one and bolt/weld a flanged towball to it.
Towbar drop brackets are a cheap source to make your own fixings from.

All I remember seeing years ago was on older caravans there was a plate under the hitch end of the A frame which had a slot about 2 inches wide which the break away cable passed through. There was a plate with a towball fixed one end and the other end of the plate went through this slot. It was just a straight rigid plate no hinge.

Thanks for that Birdman, i have only got a really poor picture of one in action which doesn't show much detail so it could be unhinged, maybe that was to hold the mover ridged & stop the clamp from swivelling around the Jockey wheel shaft?

I have just looked at our caravan this morning and the breakaway cable still passes through a slot ,but not as wide as older vans we owned. So all you need is a flat plate with a narrower tit on the end to locate in this slot with a towball fitted to the other end to go in the hitch. This will then hold secure, and then fix a jockey wheel clamp to the plate to clamp the Bigfoot
