bought one of these at weekend

i am just wondering how long should it take to get cool running off 240v?

i have had it on overnight on the lowest temp setting

and it hasnt made the ice cubes i put in as a test - its still water

the unit is def on as you can feel the warm air rising from the vents at the back

but i can't hear any running noise (should there be one? )

I havent tried it of Gas yet - was just wondering if anybody thinks it sounds like i may have a faulty one ?

if so i will have to have a ride back to towsure

ps i have tried the turning upside down thing this morning - and now trying again to see if its made a difference

Any help appreciated

Should start getting cold within the hour.  Is the gas control off whilst electric is on full? Put your hand on the interior rear wall to see if it is getting cold.

my ice was frozen in 2/3 hrs on elec. I used it on gas at the weekend and had no probs at all - I reckon yours is faulty. One thing, by lowest temp you do mean on 'High' don't you ?

i'm prob getting paranoid now - but the cooling element bit on the inside of the coolbox

should it be close to the back wall of the box along its surface area?

mine appears to be close (6mm or so) at the top right hand side - nearer 8-9 mm at the top left hand side

and a good inch and a half at the bottom from left to right - although this would push back if box was well loaded

just had a look at mine. The cooling panel that stands just off the back wall is about 3 to 4mm off the back wall all the way along the top and bottom, and about 8mm across the middle - ie it bows. If yours is inch & 1/2 off there is summat up. The panel is also very solid - no / little movement.

Hope this helps.
