Hi everyone, I’ve just bought a 1995 Lunar Chiron Caravan. It’s only a 2 berth and we are a family if 4 but we preferred the 2 berth layout as it gives us better living space. We therefore bought it with the intention of always using an awning. And so the search begins.
I’ve found out that our van awning size is 925. The problem I have is which actual awning size do I buy? I can either get a 900 - 925 or a 925 - 950
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Gareth.

In the past, when given the option, I have always gone with the larger size. My theory, right or wrong, is that a bit more material would be better especially if the pitch is a bit uneven.

Going up a size will just mean the base of the awning will be pegged right down on the floor, nice and tight.

Our previous caravan (Sprite Alpine 4) awning size was 903cm, the awning I purchased has a size of 880 - 910cm which was a very good fit, so have a look at other awning manufactures sizing. Our new caravan (2 berth) has an awning size of 920cm and yes it fits.

Also got a 2 berth folding inner tent for when our grand kids stay with us.

Hi Gareth,

I have a Dorema Escada Awning for sale size 11 which is 900-925 cms. I have updated details for the awning in the free ads section.

If this is of interest to you, what you could do is measure the awning rail on your caravan using the following method to be certain that 925 would be a good fit:-

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=measuring+your+caravan+for+an+awning&oq=measurin........

Unfortunately, I can't put the awning up to take photos in this weather but there are plenty of images of the same type of awning on the net and I found the following short clip on YouTube:

Hi again,

You may also wish to try out the Isabella website which has an awning size checker.

I put your van details in their checker and it says the 'A' measurement (obtained by measuring the awning rail as described in previous post)is 924 cm.

Isabella recommend a size 925 in their awnings rather than the next size up.
