Awkward subject: the girls may use tampons or panty liners. Sanitary towels are what their gran would have used.
But as others have said, nothing except the 3 Ps (pee poo & toilet paper) goes down the toilet. Caravan Cassette or posh M&S Ladies loo. Ever. Walk along a beach and you'll see why. Plus some pads are lined with plastic, and have a gel that absorbs fluid which makes the whole thing get bigger & bigger if it's sitting in liquid. Wherever we are, the rule is always Never Flush, always Bag it & Bin it. Same rule as nappies.
The supermarkets have budget nappy sacks. E.g. 100 for 30p in Morrisons. Not see through, very discreet.
You might want to get a budget pack of baby wipes, so the girls can freshen up between showers - that wipe goes in the same disposal bag, as they're not made of just paper. My neighbour blocked the drain by flushing away the wet wipes, they don't shred up like toilet paper.
Pack painkillers too. Paracetamol, nothing fancy. Heat helps, a hot water bottle can sooth cramps.
