I've recently brought a caravan which came with a brand new awning. It was put up in June on a seasonal pitch and has needed to be up whilst we fixed a damp problem in the caravan (this is now sorted!)and will be needed from March as we will be living in it whilst having an extension.
The problem is that it only came with the carbon fibre poles and I have lost count of how many times it has come down on one corner (This is now a weak corner!)
The awning is an outdoor revolution new Hampshire awning size 11
I have been trying to find, without luck a set of steel poles for the awning but as the awning is no longer stocked, there are no poles available for it.
I have however seen a set of aluminium poles for a dorema up for sale - any ideas of whether these would fit? They look like the same awning when erected but thought you wonderful people would know!
Also what do those who have a seasonal site use for fridges/freezers? Can you use a normal domestic fridge/freezer in the awning?
A domestic fridge freezer will have temperature limits.
They sell dedicated ones that will be used in cooler areas like a utility room or garage. A standard fridge may struggle with large temperature variations.
Dont forget they need to settle for at least 8 hours after moving them.
Awning poles vary a lot, some have the front canopy flap integrated in the poles and others have small addons.
My local camping/caravan shop has several bins full of various poles for 50p.
You can buy awning poles from lots of places cheap as chips, nothing an hacksaw cannot cure to cut them to the size you need but will they fit in the corner angles? As for a fridge freezer on a seasonal pitch, why not so long as you have constant electric. A standard fridge should not struggle in UK, I have seen them today in conservateries in Spain, and they are UK fridge freezers ! And are working fine
