I have a 2008 Ace Supreme Globestar
My caravan is on season long pitch, and the pitch is sloping
The front of the caravan is about 53cms from the floor
The back of my caravan is about 33cms from the floor
My awning rail A size is registered as 1056
As my caravan is on a slope i was asked to measure my awning rail myself
I measured it at 1064
The official measurement of 1056 would mean a awning size of 1050 would be needed
As i measured my rail from floor to floor as 1064 i was adviced to go for a awning size of 1075
I was told there may or may not be a bit of a problem at the back end of my caravan where the awning may be to long
But until i fit it we wont know
I was told if the awning is to long at the back end of my caravan i could angle the awning side further out or if that didnt take up the slack they would get Isabella to alter the awning to fit
Can anyone shed any light on what ive said with your opinions
We only got the caravan last year so ive never had a awning before
So any advice would be welcome
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
i think i need to get my caravan professionally measured and then get a professional to put the awning up
that way if my awning needs altering the professional will know where and by how much it needs altering
ive never put up a awning before so i wouldnt know if i was putting it up properly or not
and as im going to spend £2,000+ i want to get this right
i want the awning to look nice and tight when it up
but as my caravan is on a slope its not so straight foward
You'll find that a professional will only provide the answers already provided so you'll still be left in the dark really if you've never put an awning up before. However, I think it's the best solution regarding your dilemma.
a professional will deffo help a lot as to putting the awning up properly and knowing if the awning needs altering or not and if so by how much
i used a awning rail protector to measure the rail from ground to ground so im pretty certain i got the measurements right
