I have just bought our first caravan, Fleetwood Vanlander 640 ES and now looking for a awning
Found one, Dorema 1050.
However the van is listed as 1065 or 1070 or size 17
Anyway, I notice on the Awning makers website that awnings have a size range, 1050 to 1070 etc
What the seller can't tell me is whether is awning is what range is he in, 16 or 17 as both list suitable for a 1050, if it is a 1050 size 17 then it will go up to my van size
There are quite a few 2nd hand 1050's for sale but non give the size range
Different awning manufacturers will apply their own size chart so it's not a chart that is universal.
If anyone is selling an awning which seems to be the right size then you need to go on the manufactuerers website and look at their size chart.
Basically, a size 17 in a Dorema could be a diffent size range with Isabella or Bradcot for instance.
Before you commit to purchase, are you certain that you require a full size awning? 1050 is towards the upper end of sizes. For, say, (long) week ends a smaller porch awning is both lighter and quicker to erect/pack away.
Well it appears the second hand awning that I purchased on ebay and sold as 1050 and i was going to make it work for a 1065 is in fact, a size 17 1050 to 1070
It would appear that there is a Size 16 1050 and a size 17 that is 1050.
What the seller failed to realise was the size range, 1050 being at the top of the size 16 and 1050 being at the bottom end of a size 17
